Joseph John Campbell (March 26, 1904 — October 30, 1987) was an American mythologist, writer and lecturer, best known for his work in comparative mythology and comparative religion. His work is vast, covering many aspects of the human experience. His philosophy is often summarized by his phrase: “Follow your bliss.”
I met Joe back in 1980 in San francisco in one of his lectures.
I consider my self one of the luckiest people to have met him.
Because of him I understood what religion is through the power of myth, because of him I do not fear life no matter what form life takes,He was and still is the teacher I searched for all of my conscious life.
Thank you Regina for posting this interview that he did with Bill Moyers titled “The Power of Myth” during the last two summers of his life.
