Wonderful ideas presented by Dr. Eagleman however, if science is going to be relevant in the 21st century and beyond it needs a well expanded definition of “good evidence”; one to include people’s direct experience from “altered” states of consciousness heretofore unmeasurable by the tools in the scientific toolbox, because consciousness is taking a great leap forward with or without science, and will lead to breakthroughs that will be key to our survival.
