Dan Nocera: Personalized Energy from PopTech on Vimeo.
MIT Professor Dan Nocera believes he can solve the world’s energy problems with an Olympic-sized pool of water. Nocera and his research team have identified a simple technique for powering the Earth inexpensively – by using the sun to split water and store energy – making the large-scale deployment of personalized solar energy possible.

Nocera has an impeccable resume and education. He is an expert in artificial photosynthesis, and has formed a partnership with an Indian company to commercialize his products. They say that a refrigerator-sized unit will be available in a year and a half. Too bad no US company stepped up to the challenge. It will be interesting to see what happens.
It was great to hear this hopeful message.
Usually when I watch video’s of people with great ideas, and as they explain their ideas, there are many inconsistencies in how things should work, as though they’ve forgot to ask themselves ‘what if’ while working up the possibilities of their idea. But with this man, I couldn’t find any inconsistencies. It’s good to know there are geniuses in our world who do practice practical and inexpensive thinking in how to apply their ideas around the world. Love the video, thanks for posting.
