In Rajasthan, India, an extraordinary school teaches rural women and men — many of them illiterate — to become solar engineers, artisans, dentists and doctors in their own villages. It’s called the Barefoot College, and its founder, Bunker Roy, explains how it works.

[...] First I was sent a link to a TED.COM speech by Bunker Roy about the Barefoot College (http://www.cmn.tv/videos/bunker-roy-learning-from-a-barefoot-movement/). [...]
One of the most inspiring videos I have seen in awhile. Thank-you.
I think Mr. Roy’s mother would be proud of him now. Thank you for posting this video!
Great video, and very inspiring. I have a similar idea with grandmothers for a project I am working on and once completed I hope to have similar results. Grandmothers in most cultures carry a lot of influence.
I am a grandmother. Please lead the way and show me how to use what little influence that I have in a better way.
Totally inspiring.Thank you!!
Women are the future for sure.
