Steve Phillips first sent us his video/song on YouTube called We Don’t Want your Swine Flu Vaccinations and has continued his songwriting to expand his message. His compositions and playing are tight and well produced and have a mixture of influences that work well together.
Born in Carmarthen and raised in Cardiff (Wales) Steve is currently living in Hoorn in the Netherlands and has been active as a musician since around 1976 but has only relatively recently started to develop his singing (which we think is better than good enough!)
Drawing inspiration from the amazing Cardiff blues/rock scene of the 1970′s and especially the infamous New Moon Club he draws his influence from The Beatles; especially John Lennon and George Harrison, Bob Marley, The Pretty Things and many of the great songwriters and bands of that time.
His world view is, to say the least, a little “out of the box”. As a guitar player he’s been playing professionally and semi-professionally since 1976. After putting a few songs up on YouTube, he was surprised and greatly encouraged by the amount of interest and positive comments. Apparently quite a lot of people appreciated songs that approach subjects rarely found in the mainstream media. Things like; new world order, 2012, spirituality, military-industrial complex and the nature of reality amongst others. He does write about other stuff too, but it shows that he is pretty passionate about looking deeper.
